Oladance Wearable Stereo Review

Oladance wearable stereo, as Oladance calls their open headphones or earbuds. Before I write more about them a short disclaimer:

The Oladance wearable stereo or open earbuds where send to me for the purpose of review, however no one from Oladance had a chance to read this before you or influence my opinion in any way. So these are my honest thoughts about the earbuds they produce.

The last time I tried to run with music or listening to a podcast from a fellow creator was more then a year ago. I mean, I like to hear music or an interesting topic discussed while running but somehow I’ve struggled with all the earpods I tried. Somehow non of them worked for me and when Mike from Oladance approached me first I was a bit sceptical. I looked up their webpage and saw, that this earbuds are different from those I used, or better tried to use in the past.

Why not. I’ll give them a try, wear them on some of my easy runs and give you my thoughts on them.

Oladance about the wearable stereo

Oladance is a wireless earbud with an open ear design. It attaches to your ears using a titanium frame that is comfort focused and flexible. The built in 16.5mm dynamic driver delivers epic sound without ever entering your ear canal. That’s why we call them Oladance Wearable Stereo — they’re much more than just earbuds.

And why should we decide to use them:

No risk of hearing loss

Superior sound quality and solves acoustic imperfection with better audio performance against similar open design and bone conduction headphones

Comfortable ear breathing wearing experience, enabling long time usage without fatigue

Up to 16 hours per charge

Suitable for using in house / office / outdoor exercise / for long hours

Recommend for who pays great attention on their auditory health / are protecting or recovering their listening / tiny ears that are not suitable for in ear earbuds / cannot bear the side effect of using the bone conduction earphone / are elderly

Let’s find out if what Oladance claims is true

I was surprised by the quality of the package and my first impression, even before opening it was, that it has to be a premium product. The design of the case and the earbuds is superb and trying them on they fit perfectly. I just had to adjust the one on the left a few times to get it locked behind my ear. While jumping around at my home they stayed in place and I was confident that I can use them outdoors on a run.

Pairing them up with my phone was a no brainer. But be aware: if you use an Iphone like I do, pair them and switch your phone to airplane mode (that’s what I do while running) the earbuds disconnect from the phone. If you are someone using airplane mode on the phone while running, I suggest you pair the earbuds after your phone is in airplane mode and bluetooth turned on.

With this minor issue out of the way I went outside to test them on my run. My phone in my back pocket and the music turned on. The sound quality was really good. Different to the one you get from in ear buds, not better or worse, just different. Probably because I could hear also the noise around me. Up front I need to say that the sound quality is really superb.

As I can still remember from the previous earbuds I used, I couldn’t hear much what was going on around me and since some of my running routes are on roads I decided against music in my ears while running, for safety reasons. With the Oladance wearable stereo the story is different. You have your music, or my podcast – The Happy Runner, but still you can hear what’s going on around you. I was even able to hold a normal conversation with another person while listening to music. That I would say is a big plus, especially if you live and do sports and other outdoor activities in an urban area with some traffic.

Oladance wearable stereo during runs

The only issue I had during my run where the controls on the earbuds. Up front you should read the instructions and know how to use the controls and they respond great while standing still. But during my runs it was a bit more difficult. What I would suggest is, that you don’t try to adjust the volume during the run, instead do it before the run and stick to the volume to the end of it. I mean you can still try but it was easier for me to do this up front.

Since I got the earbuds I used them on a few easy runs, a 90 minute middle distance run and I tried to use them even during a track workout with some short and fast repeats. After about 20 minutes in on my second run I stoped noticing that something was around my ear, that’s good. I just had a feeling, that from somewhere music was coming into my ears. But I’m not gonna use them again during a fast track workout. Nothing against the earbuds but I found it hard to concentrate on my breathing and pace. This was, believe it or not, the first time I ran a track workout with music and probably also my last time. It’s not, that the earbuds where not working well, it’s about me. I’m not a guy who can run fast laps around a track with music.

Till today I still haven’t tested the Oladance wearable stereo during a call. That’s one thing I have on my to do list, just couldn’t find the time to do so. But if the quality of the build in microphones is as good as the sound quality I’m sure that they will be a really good option for all you out there who even take calls during your runs or other sports activities. Even just as an option, so you don’t need to hold the phone in your hand.

Would I recommend the Oladance wearable stereo?

Definitely. It’s a great option for all you out there, listening to music or a podcast during your runs or other activities. As I already mentioned, the sound quality is superb and after a few times you’ll not even notice you wear something on your ears.

I’m not much of a gym guy but I think that the Oladance wearable stereo is a great option for all you out there, who go to a gym and do workouts and since you can hear what’s happening around you I would say, that these earbuds are also great for cyclists.
