Nike running socks review

Running socks is not a subject we talk much about, but it should be. Personally I use running apparel and gear from Nike. So I am gonna do a Nike running socks review. But before I start with my thoughts on the socks I use a disclaimer: I purchased all running socks I am gonna write about with my own money and no one has payed me to do this review. It is just my honest opinion on the socks I am using. With this out of the way lets take a look at the socks.

I will give you my opinion on 3 different Nike running socks:

  • Nike Multiplier socks
  • Nike Spark lightweight socks
  • Nike Spark Cushioned socks

Lets start with one fact that goes for all socks. You want to try out different socks from different brands and pair them with your running shoes. In the end you will be using those socks, that work best for you. The less space you have in the toebox of your running shoe, the thinner your socks need to be.

Nike Multiplier socks review

Multiplier Nike running socks can be a bit tricky to use. They are quite thick and more suited for those who have running shoes with a lot of room in the toe area, or if you buy Multiplier ankle socks in the colder months. They are also a bit warmer and not suited for warmer temperatures or racing. However, since they are quite cushioned they pair great with trail shoes and work for me best with up and downhill running, where some extra support is more than welcome.

Nike Spark Cushioned socks review

The Nike Spark running socks lineup is as close to race socks as I get. As the name suggests, this socks are cushioned, so they are a bit thicker and will provide you with great comfort. However, they are also warm and not the best option for fast workouts, longruns or races. The main difference to the multiplier is in the heel area. I find that the spark cushioned socks sit better on the heel than the multiplier.

I use this socks mainly for longer runs in the colder months, when I want some protection from the cold outside and on my easy and recovery runs, when I want some more cushioning under my feet.

Nike Spark lightweight socks review

My go to Nike running socks for longruns, tempo runs, interval running and racing. It is a very thin sock, that perfectly sits on my feet and just gives them enough protection. They are a great combination with Nike racing shoes. Personally I use the no show version of this sock, the ankle version only if it is a bit colder outside. But that is just my personal preference.

However, I would not use this sock in trail running shoes, when doing hill workouts or on my easy and recovery runs.

Conclusion

Yes, I am a Nike guy 🙂 somehow everything they produce seams to work for me. And the running socks are no different. When I get them I just unpack them, put them in the washing machine ones or sometimes even twice and start using them. The first time always on a shorter run and after that for the purpose they were purchased.
